The History of Petraamo

Petraamo was founded in the year 2000 by the professional alternative medicine expert Petra Kostamo.

Petra completed her professional masseuse degree in the Edupoli Education Center of Porvoo in the year 1999 and is thereby a registered member of the National Authority for Medicolegal Affairs (TEO).

Due to her interest in the Eastern philosophies and health care methods, Petra has attained training as a Reiki healer in the Reiki Network basic and extensive courses in years 2000 and 2003. The Reiki Network is based on the Usui Shiki Ryoho method.

Petra has also graduated as a Shiatsu therapist from the Finnish Shiatsu School's diploma course in the year 2001. Suomen Shiatsukoulun.

She began her traditional Chinese medicine studies during the year 2001 at the Institute of Traditional Chinese Medicine of Porvoo and graduated as an acupuncturist and herbal therapist of traditional Chinese medicine in the year 2005.

In the year 2006, Petra completed the proficiency examination provided by the Traditional Chinese Medicine Association of Finland (FinnAcu) and was thereby officially registered as an expert of traditional Chinese medicine.

Petra has been the chairman of the Traditional Chinese Medicine Association of Finland (FinnAcu) since the year 2006 and a partial owner and lecturer at the Institute of Traditional Chinese Medicine since early 2007.
