Cupping
Cupping is done by creating an underpressure with a flame inside a round class cup and then placing it on the skin. The underpressure activates the flow of energy in the meridian or acupuncture point, stimulating the movement of Qi and Blood in the whole body.
Cupping is an effective cure towards for example an acute cold condition created by Wind and Cold. The external pathogen can be pulled out from the body, stopping it from advancing deeper. Cupping has a relaxing effect and is thus used to cure chronic pain such as backache, poor blood circulation and muscle tension. It also activates the lympha system and the blood circulation and is therefore a great help in dieting. Long-term conditions require a number of cupping treatments. Cupping often creates light bruises, especially if the patient has stagnation of the Blood. The bruises are painless and disappear in a few days.
